Kevin William Barden

Kevin William Barden was born in Dublin in 1908, leaving behind a comfortable life of teaching theology to build a church in Tehran and eventually serve as archbishop of Isfahan. He remained in Iran until the revolution forced his expulsion in 1980, cutting off any hope of returning to the parish he had created. He died in a Raheny nursing home in 2004, carrying the memory of a distant city that no longer wanted him but which he had shaped with his own hands.
