Kevin O'Flanagan

Kevin O'Flanagan was born in Dublin in 1919, the city that gave Britain one of its rare all-round sporting geniuses. He played soccer for Bohemians and Arsenal, rugby for Ireland, and sprinted so fast he outpaced his own shadow. In 1946 he faced France at rugby on a Friday and Scotland at soccer the following week, proving that talent has no lane. He later served on the International Olympic Committee until 1994, carrying Dublin's restless energy into the world's largest sporting stage.
