Judy Guinness

What is recorded here

Judy Guinness was born in Dublin in 1910, the city that gave her name before she carried it across the world. She became a British fencer, won silver at the 1932 Olympics, and is still remembered for telling the judges they had missed two hits by her opponent. That one honest sentence changed the medal and entered history. Her life ended young in Rhodesia in 1952, but the fairness she showed on the fencing strip remains the clearest part of her story.
