Joseph Duffy

Joseph Duffy, born 27 January 1956 in Mountjoy Square, Dublin, is a retired Irish radio and TV presenter who spent 37 years at RTÉ and became widely known for hosting Liveline, a weekday interview and phone-in show. His life was marked by family tragedy, including the deaths and struggles of brothers, yet he rose through student leadership at Trinity College Dublin and into one of the broadcaster’s most prominent voices. He announced his retirement on 8 May 2025, with his final Liveline show scheduled for 27 June 2025, closing a career that carried both public charm and private scar tissue.
