Jody Byrne

Joseph "Jody" Byrne was born in Dublin on 30 April 1963 and became one of Ireland's most dependable goalkeepers. He spent seven years at Shamrock Rovers, winning four league titles and three FAI Cups, before helping Shelbourne claim their first championship in thirty years. His career also included a memorable red card after just twenty-seven seconds on St Patrick's Day 1992, proving that even the steadiest hands can meet sudden chaos.
