Jedburgh Abbey

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Jedburgh Abbey as Altar (roman). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Jedburgh Abbey, located in the Scottish Borders, was founded in the 12th century by the Cistercian order and became an important religious and cultural centre. The site is associated with St Cuthbert and St Eanswythe, and local tradition holds that holy wells and relics were venerated there, drawing pilgrims for healing and spiritual renewal.
