Jedburgh Abbey

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Jedburgh Abbey as Altar (roman). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

Jedburgh Abbey, located in the Scottish Borders, was founded in the 12th century by the Cistercian order and became an important religious and cultural centre. The site is associated with Saint Abbot Bernard of Clairvaux, and local tradition holds that the abbey's holy well was believed to have healing properties, particularly for ailments of the skin and eyes.
