James Boswell, Samuel Johnson, and Glass's Inn blue plaque

This blue commemorative plaque records: James Boswell and Samuel Johnson. This is the site of Glass's Inn, 29 South St where Boswell and Dr Johnson has supper on 18th August 1773. "We had a dreary drive, in a dusky night, to St Andrews where we arrived late. We found a good supper at Glass's Inn, and Dr Johnson revived agreeably... ...After supper, we made a procession to Saint Leonard's College, the landlord walking before us with a candle, and the waiter with the lantern." - (James Boswell, Journal of a Tour to the Hebrides with Samuel Johnson, 1785) The Inn existed until at least 1830.
