What is recorded here
Jackie Mooney was born in County Dublin in 1938, the same vibrant soil that produced his uncle Denis Doyle and brother Tommy "Netler" Doyle for Shamrock Rovers. He left that familiar ground for Manchester United in 1955 but returned to Dublin, where a serious knee injury nearly ended his career before he resurfaced at Athlone Town and Bohemians. His life moved like a football match, with setbacks followed by sudden bursts of scoring power and familiar family echoes.
