ISLAND; possibly CRANNOG in LOUGH GUILE

What is recorded here

Crannog islands were ancient lakeside homes, and Lough Guile may have held one. Water would have hidden the wooden edges while people lived above the surface, watching rain and remembering the shape of the house in their bodies.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as ISLAND; possibly CRANNOG in LOUGH GUILE. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.; UNCERTAIN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
