Single-arch sandstone road bridge across the River Shannon, built c. 1815. Crenellated rubble parapet walls with render copings. Cut sandstone voussoirs to round-headed arches. Rendered U-cutwaters to north elevation.
This solidly constructed causeway provides access to Cloon Island and Island House. Its robust form is distinguished by the crenellated parapet walls, which add an element of drama to an otherwise functional structure.
