Industrial site

What is recorded here

Unknown Townland in County Dublin concealed a thirteenth-century workshop beneath its modern surface. Test trenching in 1992 exposed pits containing a barrel and timber lining, proving the site served industry long before records named it. The earth preserved what memory forgot.
Test trenching in 1992 revealed archaeological deposits of 13th-14th century date associated with a series of pits including a barrel pit and a timber-lined pit (Halpin, 1993, 21).

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
