What is recorded here

Indicated is a collapsed stone ringfort in County Cavan, Ireland, where a dense green mantle has swallowed the entrance and much of the wall. The oval measure is thirty-two metres long and eighteen metres wide, large enough for several lives but now empty except for wind moving through the vegetation. Local people still call it a fort, preserving the shape and purpose even when the stones no longer stand clear.

Not marked on OS 1836 or 1876 eds. Known locally as a 'fort'. Raised oval area (int. dims. 32.3m ENE-WSW; 18m NNW-SSE) enclosed by a substantial although largely collapsed drystone wall. Original entrance not recognisable. Densely overgrown with vegetation.
