What is recorded here

Indicated is a stone ringfort on Glasgeivnagh Hill in County Clare, Ireland. Its rectangular walls, partly hidden by grass and later building, still mark a place where people lived, kept animals or performed rituals across centuries. The nearby cairn and old field lines suggest the fort never stopped belonging to the landscape, even when human memory faded.

On a W-facing slope at the S end of Glasgeivnagh Hill and within and extensive multiperiod field system (CL010-064001-). A subrectangular enclosure (c. 40m E-W; c. 37m N-S) defined by a partially grassed-over stone wall. The W side and portion of the N and S sides are overlain by a more modern wall visible on Digital Globe (2011-2013) and on OSi MapGenie orthophotography (2013-2018). Possible pens occupy the NE and SE corners. A cairn (CL010-064057-) lies c. 160m to the SW. Compiled by: Mary Tunney Date of upload: 10 November 2025
