What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort in County Mayo, an earthen ring where the boundary between human law and old imagination thins. Its name sounds like a pointer rather than a identity, as if the place exists to direct attention elsewhere. The clay may have held a household, a boundary marker or a warning, but the function has faded into the land. What remains is a circle waiting for recognition.
