Enclosure

What is recorded here

In level pasture. Indicated on the OS 25-inch plan (1897) and the Cassini edition (1920) of the OS 6-inch map. This small, poorly preserved, slightly sunken subcircular enclosure (int. dims. 15.1m NW-SE; ext. dims. 22.6m NW-SE) is defined by a low earth and stone bank (Wth 2m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.1m) which is best preserved at SE and SW. From SW-N-SE, a drystone wall (Wth c. 0.8m; max. H 1.4m) runs along the top of the bank. The S edge of the enclosure is cut by a later ENE-WSW running road. There is another enclosure (CL017-034----) c. 60m to the E.
