What is recorded here

Indicated is a lost ringfort in County Mayo, Ireland. It stood on a low rise above the Palmerstown River, large enough to hold a small life, but reclamation tools erased its marker. The land keeps the shape only in memory now.

Located on a low rise in rolling pasture with gradual fall of ground to SE towards the Palmerstown River. There is rath (MA015-030----) c. 150m to SSE. This possible ringfort is shown on the1838 and 1922 OS maps as a circular enclosure (diam. 25-30m). It was levelled during land reclamation works; there is no visible trace at ground level.
