Indicated

On a SW-facing rocky promontory in elevated flat scrub-covered pasture with steep ravines to the NW and S and excellent views on all sides. Within a multiperiod field system (CL005-227004-). Depicted as an enclosure on the 1916 OS 6-inch map. A heavily overgrown suboval enclosure (c. 17m NE-SW; c. 14m NW-SE) defined by a stone wall (int. H 0.7m; ext. H 0.6-1.4m; Wth 0.8-1.2m) which is largely concealed by scrub. The wall is built on a natural limestone ledge (H 1.4-1.6m) from W to N. It has intermittently surviving inner and outer wall-facing with rebuilt sections of masonry. The interior is completely covered in scrub. An attached area defined by a stone wall (Wth 1m; H 0.4-0.6m) was noted at NE but was completely overgrown and is not visible on available aerial images.    Compiled by: Mary Tunney and Eve Campbell   Date of upload: 21 October 2025
