Indicated

Surrounding a cliff-edge fort (CL009-081----) from N to W, on a shelf covered by hazel wood, overlooking the Poulacarran and Eanty valleys from SW to NE; the land slopes almost vertically (H c. 20m) immediately to the NW. Indicated on the 1842 and 1920 eds. of the OS 6-inch map. Westropp (1911, 360) considered this ‘slight, defaced structure’ to be ‘either very late or rudely built’. This hazel-covered suboval enclosure (c. 95m NNE-SSW; c. 54m WNW-ESE) is defined by a double-faced stone wall (Wth at S 1.4m; H 0.6-1m) with internal and external stone spill.
