What is recorded here

Indicated is a vanished circular enclosure on a western shelf in County Clare, reduced to overgrown walling and memory after pasture reclamation. It may have stood as a dwelling, a trap, or a boundary for people who no longer leave behind more than shape. The land has taken back most of its edges, but the circle still resists forgetting.

On a shelf on a W-facing slope in reclaimed pasture. Indicated on the 1920 ed. of the OS 6-inch map as a possible enclosure (c. 35m N-S; c. 34m E-W), roughly subcircular in plan. Apart from a section of overgrown walling at N, which is partly obscured by a stone spoil heap, no visible surface trace survives. The field walls in the area have been cleared as a result of land reclamation. Due to the dense overgrowth on the wall it was not possible to determine its nature.
