What is recorded here

Indicated is a crannog in County Mayo, Ireland, an artificial island built for living above the water. The name sounds like a pointer rather than a home, as if the place existed to show someone the way. It may have hosted a family, a hermit or a forgotten trader, all of them relying on the lake to hide them from the world. The water still covers most of the evidence, keeping the crannog alive in suggestion instead of fact.
