Indicated is a subcircular cashel on a Galway hill, its drystone wall still standing after centuries of rain and neglect. A laneway cuts through the interior, suggesting people once walked this place with purpose rather than passing it in fear. The Coole River catches light below the ridge, while rubble from later field work buries part of the ancient edge. The fort does not need mythology to feel alive; it preserves the shape of human choice in stone.
