Indicated

Indicated is an oval fairy fort on a Galway ridge, its earthen bank still drawing a clear line across undulating farmland. The shape measures fifty-six metres along its longest edge, large enough to hold a small village or a hundred years of forgotten argument. A modern gap opens at the northeast, perhaps cut by a plough or a careless boot, while an old trackway still circles the eastern limit. The fort does not explain itself, but it remains visible, waiting for someone to walk its edge and imagine what the bank kept out or held in.
