Indicated

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Indicated was a fairy fort in County Kerry, Ireland. The site is no longer visible because men levelled the earth in the mid-1970s.
Marked as a circular enclosure on both editions of the OS maps, this site was levelled in the mid-1970s when the fields in its immediate vicinity were amalgamated. The site had previously been used as a cattle enclosure (local information). The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Sheehan (compilers), 'The Iveragh peninsula: an archaeological survey of South Kerry'. Cork University Press (1996), no. 827. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 29 July 2013

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
