In low-lying grassland. According to OS Letters (O'Flanagan 1927, Vol. 1, 239), this well was known as 'Tobar Soláin'. It was used as a penitential station up to 40-50 years ago. Linked to Saint Soláin, the well was associated with penitential practices and may have been a site of pilgrimage. Local tradition suggests it was used for acts of devotion and possibly healing, though specific cures or rituals are not recorded.
