Linear earthwork

What is recorded here

Redmond (1885-6a, 399-400) describes a linear earthwork on Camphire hill, opposite Dromana as a 'double trench on either side of a road' called Cairn an damh dearg - the cairn of the red ox. This may be the stone wall with a ditch on its E side, but there is no reason to think it is ancient. Redmond, G. (1885-6a) Notes on the history, antiquities, archaeoloical remains and legends connected with the western end of the county Waterford, JRSAI, 17, 394-405.
