What is recorded here

Indicated is a faded fairy fort in County Mayo, a shallow circular scar barely visible beneath grass on a south-facing slope. Its earthen bank has worn to thirty centimeters, reducing a once-defined boundary to a vague suggestion of shape. The land has almost erased the fort, keeping only the memory of a circle drawn in soil.
In grassland, on S-facing slope. Roughly circular raised area (36m N-S; 40m E-W), enclosed by the poor remains of an earthen bank (H 0.3m). The above description has been derived from D. Lavelle (compiler), An Archaeological Survey of Ballinrobe and District including Lough Mask and Lough Carra. Lough Mask and Lough Carra Tourist Development Association (1994), No. 173. Date of upload: 24 January 2013
