Indicated

On a N-facing promontory at the N edge of a plateau, within a multiperiod field system (CL009-021001-), with land falling steeply into a ravine c. 35m to the E, c. 70m to the W and c. 145m to the N. Indicated on the 1842 and 1920 eds. of the OS 6-inch map. A well-preserved subrectangular area (c. 30–40m NNE–SSW; c. 28–35m WNW–ESE) defined by a drystone wall (Wth c. 0.5m; H 1.1–1.5m), with a Man-made underground passage (CL009-021019-) in the NW centre. The enclosure wall is poorly preserved at the S (H 0.6m) and sturdiest at the W where there is a footing of horizontally laid stones. Abutting the wall interior there is a band (Wth generally c. 1m; Wth at W 2m) of grass-covered collapsed stones. A later drystone cell (5.5m WNW–ESE; 4m NNE–SSW) is built in the NE corner of the enclosure. This is labelled ‘sheepfold’ on the 1897 OS 25-inch plan.
