What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Kilcloghan, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a D-shaped grass area thirty-six by thirty-five metres on the eastern slope of a drumlin ridge beside Lough Nablahy. A low scarp borders the western and northern edges while field banks cut into the eastern and southern limits. Another rath stands one hundred and thirty metres to the west.

Towards the bottom of the E-facing slope of an E-W drumlin ridge on the NW shore of Lough Nablahy (dims c. 1.5km NE-SW; c. 400m NW-SE). D-shaped grass-covered area (dims c. 36m N-S; c. 35m E-W) defined by a low scarp (H 0.4-0.5m) SW-W-NE. The site is truncated by a N-S field bank at E and by an E-W field bank at S. There is no visible fosse or entrance. Rath (RO017-139001-) is c. 130m to the W. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
