What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Kilcar, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a rise in an undulating landscape and measures twenty-eight metres across in both directions. A grass-covered scarp and shallow fosse define its boundary, while another rath stands one hundred and eighty metres to the southwest.
On a rise in an undulating landscape. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 28m N-S; 28m E-W) defined by a scarp (H 0.55-0.9m), with a fosse (Wth of top 5.4m; Wth of base 2.1m; ext. D 0.2m) ENE-SSE. There is no identifiable original entrance. Rath (RO048-071----) is c. 180m to the SW. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
