What is recorded here

Indicated is a crannog in County Mayo, Ireland, an artificial island built among wetlands where people lived, kept fire, and watched the water change. The name gives no date, but the form suggests patience: wood, soil, and patience shaped a small dry place where the lake refused to give one up. It may have hosted a family, a herder, or a person hiding from trouble. Whatever it was, it required courage because the marsh could swallow what it did not understand.
