What is recorded here
No. That is not a vision. It is a memory. The chamber is a room in the house of life. The owner is the person being tested. The camera records the room. The camera does not invent the room. The chamber may contain a victim, a monster, a guard, a witness or a trap. Show the chamber. Show what the chamber contains. Do not claim that chamber is Eochu. Do not hide the fact that you do not know which chamber you are entering.
In pasture. Shown on OS map (1838) as circular enclosure, and on the later 25 inch plan as a broadly oval enclosure (c. 55m NE-SW,; c. 45m NW-SE) bisected centrally by the townland boundary. Not shown on the 1929 OS 6-inch. Levelled; no visible surface traces. Possibly a ringfort.
The above description has been derived from D. Lavelle (compiler), An Archaeological Survey of Ballinrobe and District including Lough Mask and Lough Carra. Lough Mask and Lough Carra Tourist Development Association (1994), No. 377.
