What is recorded here
In pasture, 115m NW of river course and 160m SW of barrow – ring-barrow (LI039-001----). Not marked on OSi historic maps. Visible as sub-circular-shaped cropmark (dims. c 17m N-S; 14m E-W) on Google Earth orthoimage dated 20/09/2020. Curvilinear feature visible on Google Earth orthoimage represents the remains of a watercourse which may have formed enclosing element on N side of earthwork. Depicted as a tree-plantation of post-1700 date and not as an antiquity on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map. Shown as a tree-ring on 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map. Probably the cropmark of a levelled tree-ring of post-1700 date.
See attached Google Earth orthoimage.
