In undulating farmland, 300m WSW of Hampstead House. Marked on 1st ed. of OS 6-inch map as a circular tree-filled enclosure (D c. 40m) and on 3rd ed. (1933) as a U-shaped formation of deciduous trees. What survives is a large striking steep-sided mound (H c. 3m), composed of grassed-over limestone blocks and rubble, which appears to have been quarried into at W. Traces of a surrounding bank are visible from W to N. Possibly a landscape feature but its morphology is also similar to that of a barrow.
