Indicated

Fairy fort / stone ringfort

What is recorded here

Indicated is a circular cashel in County Galway, holding a twenty-five-metre drystone ring within a slight hollow of undulating farmland. Its northern wall remains the clearest, while overgrowth swallows the rest, suggesting the land reclaimed the shape rather than a hammer breaking it. A person may have stood inside that ring, watching the horizon tilt and change, before forgetting the name and leaving the shape behind.
In a slight hollow in undulating farmland. Circular cashel (diam. c. 25m), in fair condition, defined by a drystone wall best preserved at N. Overgrowth obscures the enclosing element throughout. Compiled by: Galway Archaeological Survey, UCG Date of upload: 2 January 2017
