What is recorded here

Indicated is a ruined fairy fort in County Cork pasture, its earthen bank now reduced to a low arc swallowed by field fences. The surviving curve measures nineteen metres and rises just over a metre, yet it still marks the edge of a thirty-metre circular home. It may have been a farmyard, a refuge or a boundary for people long forgotten. The gentle slope and ordinary grass disguise the shape of a life that once turned around that ring.

In pasture, on level ground. Depicted on 1842 OS 6-inch map as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m). Arc (C 19.4m) survives SE->W, formed by earthen bank (H 1.1m); incorporated into field fence system. Interior slopes down very gently to E.
