What is recorded here

On a moderately steep W-facing slope surrounded by rough outcropping rock and rough grazing and situated within a field system (CL002-033001-) on the E side of the valley between Gleninagh ‘Mountain’ and Cappanawalla Hill. A small circular enclosure (int. diam. 5.8m) defined by a substantial drystone wall (Wth 0.9m at N to 1.5m at E; int. H 0.9m at E to 1.4m at N; ext. H 0.9m at E and S to 1.5m at W with no obvious cashel-like stones visible. At the foot of the inner wall-face at NW several small earthfast slabs project inward to form a triangular-shaped area (L 0.4m; max. Wth 0.4m) enclosing a small spring well. Appears to be used as a relatively modern animal pen. A cashel (CL002-032002-) lies 16m to the SW. Compiled by: Mary Tunney and Ros Ó Maolduin Date of upload: 19 November 2020
