Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Feacle, County Roscommon, Ireland. The site appears on the 1915 Ordnance Survey map as a circular enclosure forty to forty-five metres across near the top of a south-facing slope. Faint traces of a thirty-metre circular area remain visible in pasture, while Cashel stands one hundred and thirty metres to the southwest.
Marked only on the 1915 ed. of the OS 6-inch map as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 40-45m), and situated towards the top of a S-facing slope. There are slight traces of a circular area (diam. c. 30m) visible in pasture. Cashel (RO048-125----) is c. 130m to the SW. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
