What is recorded here

Situated at the bottom of a gentle S-facing slope with limited views. Listed as ‘House site’ in the RMP (1996). Indicated as occupied on the 1842 OS 6-inch map. On inspection in 1998 this was found to be an 18th/19th-century house, aligned E-W and divided into two rooms (W room: ext. dims. 3.4m N-S; 5.5m E-W; E room: ext. dims. 4.4m N-S; 4m E-W) with a double-faced wall surviving to 1.2-1.6m (T 0.6m). The S wall is reduced to its foundations. Each room has a separate entrance in the S wall and there is no connecting doorway. Compiled by: Mary Tunney Date of upload: 21 March 2016
