Abutting the N exterior of Lissaniska cashel (CL009-045----), on a karst knoll at the edge of a plateau, with land dropping almost vertically to the E and rising to a bluff to the N. Depicted on the OS 25-inch plan (1897) and the 1920 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. This subrectangular enclosure (51m N–S; 40m E–W) is defined by a substantial double-faced stone wall (Wth 1.2m; H 1.2–2m) with rounded corners. Westropp (1911, 357) notes that the wall of this ‘outer court’ is of higher-quality and more massive construction than that of the cashel. He (ibid.) also records an unlined gap, not visible during an inspection in 1998, in the N of the cashel wall, providing access to this enclosure. A megalithic structure (CL009-045004-) lies c. 10m to the N of the enclosure. A hut site (CL009-045003-) lies c. 21m to the SSW outside the cashel entrance.
