What is recorded here

Indicated is a ruined fairy fort in County Cavan, Ireland. Its circular boundary has been swallowed by modern fields, hiding the entrance and reducing the ancient wall to a low line of stones. The place still carries the shape of human life, even though memory has forgotten the hands that built it.

Marked 'Fort' on OS 1836 and 1876 eds. Raised circular area (int. diam. 28.2m) enclosed by a much-denuded, low drystone wall which has been modified and incorporated into the field boundary. At NE the perimeter has been destroyed and replaced by a more substantial modern stone field wall. Original entrance not recognisable.
