Marked as an island (diam. c. 15m) at what was a narrow part (Wth c. 35m) of Grange Lough (dims. c. 1km NE-SW; c. 100m NW-SE) on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map. Situated now on a low N-S neck of land separating Bellacahan Lough (dims. c. 250m E-W; c. 100m N-S) to the NE from a smaller Grange Lough (dims. c. 700m ENE-WSW; c. 100-140m NNW-SSE) to the SW. It is not visible at ground level in rough pasture.
