Indicated is a subrectangular cashel in elevated Clare pasture, its thin flat slabs still standing on three sides while the south wall vanished entirely. The broken lintel lies across the entrance like a tongue refusing to speak, and the rounded corners suggest hands that shaped stone rather than fought it. People may have lived inside this shallow box, watching the clear southern view or listening to wind pull through the eastern gap. The fort does not claim to be grand; it keeps its shape in rocky ground and waits for someone to notice the difference between a hole and a room.

In elevated rocky pasture, on a level area on the S-facing slopes of a hill with higher ground to the N and clear views to the S. Within an extensive multiperiod field system (CL005-160001-). Not shown on the 1840 OS 6-inch map; indicated as a partial enclosure on the 1916 edition. Marked on Tim Robinson’s Burren map (1977). Listed as ‘Rectangular enclosure’ on the RMP (1996). A subrectangular cashel (36m NW-SE), defined by a drystone wall surviving on the N, E and W sides, and completely robbed out on the S. The walls are slightly bowed and the corners are rounded. The wall is composed of thin flat slabs and is battered. Outer wall-facing (H 0.8-1.3m) survives along most of the wall. An original entrance is located to the SSE (Wth 1.6m). It is faced on its S side with a large collapsed lintel lying in the opening. A second rubble-filled break (Wth 3m) can be found to the E. The interior is uneven, falling to the NW, W and SE. A possible hut site abutting the cashel wall at NW may be contemporary. The monument has been extended to the S to form a larger subrectangular enclosure (c. 58m N-S).
