What is recorded here
Indicated is a broken fairy fort on a Mayo ridge where the earth still holds the shape of a forgotten room. Its western gap faces the horizon like an invitation, while the northern and southern banks rise high enough to block the wind but low enough to tempt a person inside. The grass slopes gently eastward, smoothing the edge of the circle until the fort disappears into ordinary pasture.
In pasture on the top of a low ridge with fine views throughout. A subcircular area (int. diams. 40m N-S; 36m E-W) is enclosed by an overgrown bank of earth and stone (int. H 0.1-0.3m; Wth 4-5m; ext. H 1.6-1.9m) along the N and S sectors which has been reduced to a scarp (H 1.4m at WNW-1.8m at E) elsewhere. There is a wide gap (Wth 5m) at W. The interior slopes gently down towards the E.
