What is recorded here

On a rise in scrub and grassland. Well-preserved circular rath (D 46m) defined by an inner bank, intervening fosse, and traces of an outer bank from N to ENE. A shed has been built upon it at E, and a field wall overlies the enclosing elements at W. Within the interior is a Man-made underground passage (GA056-063001-) of a well (Topgr. Files, NMI). Of the latter, no visible surface trace survives. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'.
