What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Coolagarry (athlone South By.), County Roscommon, Ireland. It appears as a faint circular feature or platform about thirty metres across on the 1837 and 1915 Ordnance Survey maps. The slight rise in the undulating landscape measures twenty-four metres and reaches a maximum height of zero point three metres. No visible fosse or entrance remains.
Marked faintly as a circular feature (diam. c. 30m) on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and as a platform (ext. diam. c. 30m) on the 1915 ed. Situated on a slight rise in an undulating landscape. Slightly raised grass-covered area (diam. 24m NE-WS; 24m NW-SE; max. H 0.3m). There is no visible fosse or entrance. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 24 August 2010
