What is recorded here

On a low ridge in former demesne land, 200m WNW of the site of Runnamead House, a 19th-C mansion. Marked on OS 6-inch maps as a circular tree-planted enclosure. What survives is a very poorly preserved subcircular enclosure (NE-SW 26m), NW-SE 24m defined from S to NW by a curving bank (Wth 2.2m, H 1.35m max.) which is incorporated into a modern field boundary, and elsewhere by a low scarp (H 0.1m). The interior has been cleared. An earthwork (GA061-068----) lay 100m to WSW. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'.
