What is recorded here

Indicated is a thirty-three-metre fairy fort in County Kerry where a road now cuts through its eastern bank. The circle still holds its shape beneath trees, shrubs and dumped stone, marking an old boundary that human convenience keeps interrupting. Its name suggests a finger still pointing at the place, even when the path, lamp and church have crowded the ring.

In pasture, on a gentle S-facing slope. A circular area (diam. 33m) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3m; int. H 1.05m; ext. H 1.35m) which is tangentially abutted at NE by a road. Recent stone facing has been added to the external face of the bank NW-S. The bank has been disturbed at NE by the planting of shrubs and at N by the erection of a lamp post. Building debris has been dumped along the SE bank. The interior is level and has been planted with trees. A narrow break (Wth 0.5m) at SW is blocked by a stone.
