What is recorded here

Indicated was a fairy fort in County Cork, a circular earthen ring about fifty-five metres across that men lived beside or feared entering. Surveyors drew its ridge on paper in 1842, but human tools or forgetting have since cut that line from the earth. What remains is a hollow shape in memory, large enough to walk around and quiet enough to disappear.
