What is recorded here

Mid/late 19th-century lime kiln, in woodland on demesne of Mallow Castle (14872), built against natural slope overlooking River Blackwater to S. Random-rubble stone walls encase earthen core. Front elevation (H c. 6m; Wth 8.46m) faces S, arched recess (H 2.12m; Wth 2.76m; D c. 1.82m), rear collapsed and filled with core material. Brick-lined funnel (diam. 2m), bottom of funnel infilled, lower bricks heat-shattered. Random-rubble limestone structure c. 9m to N, built into slope: circular (diam. c. 4.4m) internal plan; wall height c. 2m; ope in S wall.
